As Colorado marks the end of its first year of legal recreational marijuana sales to adults, the Denver-based dispensary is marking that historic event with cannabis-related holiday sales and promotions
DENVER (December 15, 2014) -- Following on the heels of its successful and ground-breaking Black Friday sales, The Grass Station is gearing up for another round of holiday cheer.
The Denver-based store, one of Colorado’s oldest and largest marijuana dispensaries, began the 2014 holiday shopping season with a very successful sales event that ran through the Thanksgiving weekend.
“We’ve picked up a lot of new customers since then; people are excited,” says Grass Station CEO and founder Ryan Fox.
And as Colorado ends its first historic year of legal recreational marijuana sales for adults, Fox says consumers have embraced the cannabis industry – and have added cannabis products and accessories to their holiday shopping lists.
“We’re preparing for the Christmas rush,” he says. “That’s when people will be coming into town to visit friends and family. Like other retailers, there’s a spike in interest. We’re looking forward to it.”
As part of the holiday sales, The Grass Station is offering steep discounts on its cannabis vaporizers and extracts. It’s also continuing to honor coupons from its fellow Colorado dispensaries through the end of the year – a promotion that’s been very popular with customers.
The Grass Station can also make sure there’s something special for the adult on your gift list, with its unique stocking-stuffer discount. The store will contribute $20 worth of merchandise every time a customer purchases four qualifying items, or $50 in gifts such as T-shirts, hats and other apparel for every eight or more qualifying items purchased. The store even has traditional Christmas stockings on sale and ready to be filled with those gifts.
The retail analytics firm ShopperTrak predicts this year’s Super Saturday – the Saturday before Christmas Day – will surpass Black Friday as the busiest shopping day of 2014. And The Grass Station is preparing for that holiday rush with additional staff. It’s also accommodating extreme last-minute holiday shoppers, and will be open on Christmas Day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Fox says that, even though December isn’t over, the month has already been one of the busiest ever for the dispensary.
“We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback about our store, our merchandise and our holiday sales,” Fox notes, “and we’re happy to be part of the holiday rush.”
